Aftercare & Touch-Ups

  • Wait 1-2 hours. Remove bandage. DO NOT RE-BANDAGE.

  • Always wash your hands before touching the tattoo.

  • With clean fingertips, cool water and an unscented mild liquid soap, (you can also use an unscented anti-bacterical soap), gently wash your tattoo. Gently pat dry. Wash several times a day. Can be done in the shower.

  • Apply a very small amount of unscented lotion or a tattoo aftercare product to the area after it has been washed and allowed to dry for several minutes. This can be started the following morning.

  • DO NOT SOAK your tattoo. No bathing, swimming or hot-tubs.

  • DO NOT WEAR tight clothing over your healing tattoo.

  • DO NOT PICK or scratch for ANY reason.

  • DO NOT SHAVE over for at least 2 weeks.

  • DO NOT TAN.

  • Basic healing is 7-10 days. During this time it will be sore, it will seep, itch and peel.

  • Total healing is between 1 month and 6 weeks. It will have a waxy apperance until it has completely finished healing.

  • For years to come, SUNSCREEN is the best way to keep your tattoo looking bright.

Touch-Ups...

You will know within a month of getting your tattoo if it requires any touching up or not. The chances of needing one greatly increase when you don't follow aftercare properly. Your artist will be able to tell if the area of concern happened due to normal reasons or your negligence, and will inform you if the touch-up is free or not, depending.

A touch-up is NOT your artist re-doing your tattoo due to it naturally aging, or losing some of its vibrancy due to time or sun exposure -- expect to pay for things like that.

If you feel like you need a touch-up, please contact us about it within 60 days of your last appointment.
